With the warmer weather we find ourselves spending more time outdoors, in the sun enjoying much longer daylight hours. Add to this the effects of swimming (pools or Ocean) and the drying effects on the hair and scalp can be significant. This effect is only compounded for those who chemically treat their hair. Some things to help minimize and protect your hair:
- Wash or thoroughly rinse off hair AND scalp after swimming
- Extra conditioning may be required
- Styling or Finishing products should provide UV protection
- If the scalp receives alot of sun (esp. if sun burned) do not apply products with high alcohol contents until the skin heals and becomes less sensitive.
Also remember that warmer weather causes excessive sweating and this should be remedied at your earliest convenience.
